Would you like to help Habitat for Humanity Yukon? If so, you can register online below to volunteer.

We need people with all types of skills to help us break the cycle of poverty by assisting families to find safe, decent and affordable housing. Volunteering is a great way to show that you care about others and want to make a difference.  And we aren’t just looking for professional carpenters!  We have volunteer opportunities for anyone who is genuinely interested in the affordable housing crisis facing so many families in Canada and abroad.

There are many different ways to volunteer. Here are some suggestions:

  • Phone our office and join a committee or volunteer to help with a build.
  • Get your company to sponsor a house and then send out a team of workers to help with hammering, sawing and cutting… or serving food, helping with first aid or transportation of other volunteers.
  • Ask us about short term overseas volunteer opportunities with Habitat’s “Global Village” program.

Here is a list of our committees:

  • Family Selection
  • Family Partnering
  • Communications/Fundraising
  • Faith Relations
  • Volunteers

    How companies can give

    Benefits of partnering with us

Few causes in the Whitehorse region offer the kind of tangible and lasting community benefits that Habitat for Humanity provides.

In bringing community partners together to help local families build strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership, we offer your company the opportunity to build a visible legacy of your commitment to strengthen your community.

We provide the opportunity to engage your employees in a unique team building experience through volunteering on our build sites. Partnership with Habitat for Humanity Yukon also means that you’re teaming up with one of the most trusted and recognized non-profit organizations in Canada.

    How to partner with us

    Event sponsorship

Habitat for Humanity Yukon hosts  signature events each year, allowing corporate groups to engage their teams in fun and meaningful community-building activities, while also promoting your brand with targeted audience groups. Whether swinging a hammer at our Women Build event or decorating Habitat gingerbread houses at our Gingerbread Build, we have a broad reach across many demographics.

    Corporate team building

The ultimate team building experience, Habitat Building Days are a one-of-a-kind employee engagement opportunity that offers your company the chance to build your team, your brand, and your community! Corporate teams get out of the office and spend the day on a Habitat build site, working together to help build Habitat homes for working, low-income families in the Yukon.
Fun, meaningful experiences like Habitat Build Days are not only a great way to give back and build your company profile as a committed corporate citizen, they can also help you attract new talent, retain valuable employees and strengthen workplace culture.

    • Engage employees in a meaningful, cost-effective experience.
    • Provide a fun, interactive way for employees to connect outside the office and recharge while giving back.
    • Align your company with a globally recognized charity.
    • Energize and unify your workforce.
    How it works

No construction experience or gear required! We take care of it all, from registration to tool belts. The team building starts when you arrive on a Habitat for Humanity build site. Participants get the opportunity to learn new skills together, work in collaborative groups to complete building tasks and accomplish something meaningful for their community as a cohesive team.

    Safety first

Your team’s safety is our first priority. All participants are suited up with complete safety gear, trained and led through a variety of construction tasks, while working together with colleagues in a safe and fun environment. Learn about on-site safety requirements.
